Church of Sant'Agata

The church of Sant'Agata in Radicofani dates back to the 15th century and is linked to the Compagnia o Confraternita dell'Assunzione di Maria (Company or Confraternity of the Assumption of Mary), as indicated by an inscription on the travertine marble portal of the facade, over which there is a tympanum. The interior, which has a single nave, contains a precious work by Andrea della Robbia, the Coronation of the Virgin by the Angels and Saints Francis, Margherita of Cortona, Cristina of Bolsena and Lorenzo. The Church was suppressed in 1802: it was severely damaged by bombing during the First World War and today accommodates the oratory of the Venerable Brotherhood of Mercy and Holy Sacrament.
