Truffle Museum

The Truffle Museum of San Giovanni d'Asso, in the municipality of Montalcino, is the first Italian museum dedicated to this precious fruit of the earth.
Set up in the basement of an ancient castle, it features an exhibition that stimulates all the visitor's senses, making it possible, through touch, hearing, taste and smell, to discover the properties and history of this tuber.
Harvesting and conservation techniques and its use in cooking are also shown, while a last section is dedicated to wild herbs. There is also a documentation centre which holds educational workshops.
