Water Museum

The Water Museum was inaugurated on 27 January, 2010 and it is located in the premises above the Fonti di Pescaia. A visit to the museum also includes the Fonti di Pescaia and the relative bottini underground channels.
The museum itinerary was designed with a multimedia approach: the visitor becomes absorbed in the story of the ancient bottini and the springs in the city of Siena through the video-narrations. The audio documentation also includes evidence provided by the elders of the city, which helps us understand what an important role water has played in the history and structure of Siena. The memory of the Sienese people is linked to the water system hidden under the ground.
